Using the "Teaching Storytelling" Video: Phenix City

Visualization
Tammy Russell uses visualization exercises to help students develop images of the characters and
the setting and conflict. This helps them to use their imaginations to create their own stories.
Again, notice the details the students use, how they use what they have learned, and the emphasis
on listening skills. In addition to making up stories, Ms. Russell reminds students of well-known
stories and of main points found in all good stories.
